Future of learning and workforce development

During this edition of DronePort Connects, industry experts, policymakers, educators, and innovators came together to explore one of the most pressing challenges in the adoption of autonomous and uncrewed systems (AUS): developing the workforce and capabilities needed to support this rapidly evolving domain.

The discussions highlighted how technologies are advancing faster than traditional education and training systems can adapt, and why workforce and capability development should be viewed as strategic infrastructure for the future of AUS. Participants shared practical experiences, explored emerging skills requirements, and discussed how organizations can successfully integrate increasingly capable autonomous technologies into their operations.

A recurring theme throughout the event was the importance of collaboration across the innovation ecosystem. By bringing together industry, government, knowledge institutions, and training providers, we took another step toward building a shared approach to developing the talent, knowledge, and capabilities needed for the future of autonomous systems.

OUR RECURRING PARTNER and stakeholder EVENT

What Is DronePort Connects?

DronePort Connects is our recurring event designed to bring together our Innovation Ecosystem partners and stakeholders who develop or apply autonomous and uncrewed systems (AUS) and supporting key enabling technologies in the defense, logistics, maritime, offshore, emergency response, and other vital sectors.

Each edition takes on a specific strategic question: ranging from how AUS and key enabling technologies impact national security and port resilience to workforce and capability development, strategic and digital autonomy, and the regulatory frameworks emerging at national and European level. Each edition is built so participants can keep up with the changes that matter, connect with the right Innovation Ecosystem actors, and make tangible progress on deployment in operational environments across the Netherlands, Europe, and beyond.
